Glamorgan\'s handsome victory in the Specsavers County Championship match against Worcestershire at New Road saw a number of Club records being re-written, not least Owen Morgan’s outstanding match-winning efforts with the bat in clinching the Welsh county’s first win on Worcester soil since 2010.
Behind the stumps, Mark Wallace also had a fine game at Worcester as, for the second match of the summer, the long-serving wicket-keeper pouched nine victims in the game to equal, once again, Colin Metson’s record of nine dismissals in a match achieved against Worcestershire at New Road in 1993 and Surrey at The Oval in 1995.
Mark already equalled the record during Glamorgan’s match against Derbyshire at Colwyn Bay in mid-July and if the Glamorgan seam attack continue in probing form this is another landmark which could be erased as the Club press for a place in the higher echelons of the Division Two table.
Wallace was the youngest Glamorgan wicket-keeper to represent the county when he made his debut in 1999 and has since grabbed 690 catches and 55 stumpings in first-class cricket for his home county.
