James Vince masterfully scored Hampshire’s highest ever one-day score but it was Glamorgan heroes Colin Ingram and Chris Cooke that pulled off a stunning run chase to steal victory at the Ageas Bowl.
Ingram crashed a brutal century before Cooke got the hosts over the line with a match winning unbeaten 59 from 27 balls - with the visitors chasing 332 with a three wicket victory and a ball to spare.
After struggling to get going - Kiran Carlson and Ingram put on 73 for the fourth wicket. Ingram clattered six sixes - on his way to a 70-ball century - his second century in this year's competition which saw him past 7,000 List A runs and set up a thrilling finale.
Chris Cooke smashed 21 from the 47th over and then hit successive maximums to make it 22 needed from the last two overs. Craig Meschede departed with 9 needed from 6 balls, but Cooke chipped a six off Topley to pull off a remarkabel win for the Welsh county.
“I think when Carlson and Ingram were batting they were going really well and then from there Ingram has started hitting the ball out the ground," said Cooke.
“From then on we thought it would be unlikely but there was a chance. As a team when we get a sniff we try to punish it, and we did today.
“The boundaries were fairly small today and it was a good wicket and when you have nothing to lose you give it a go.
“It won’t come off six or seven times out of 10 but it did today.
“Vince played unbelievably well and it is a little unfair he is on the losing side. His knock was superb but Ingram played a hell of a knock."
