We showed some great signs with the bat - Selman

A superb 140 from opener Nick Selman - a List A career-best - proved in vain as Glamorgan's Group 1 match against Leicestershire Foxes in the Royal London Cup was abandoned with no result.

Selman was backed up by 67 from Billy Root as Glamorgan posted 277 for eight in 50 overs, the pair sharing a partnership of 123 for the fourth wicket to set a competitive total but play was abandoned due to heavy rain one over into the Foxes' innings.

"We had a pretty good score on the board, maybe 15 short, but we've got an attack that can take early wickets so it was frustrating for the rain to come," said Selman.

"We showed some great signs with the bat with Steve and Bill, it's my game plan to bat until 40-45 overs and bat around guys like Billy and Kiran (Carlson) who tick it over a lot easier than I do.

"I wouldn't say one day cricket is my strongest format, so good to get a few and tick that (form) over to Notts and Yorks to finish on a high."
