Head coach Matt Maynard admitted his side were a little bit rusty after they drew their LV= County Championship fixture against Worcestershire.
The Welsh county were forced to follow-on after being dismissed for 295, however rain brought an early end to the match with Glamorgan taking 12 points away from the contest against the Pears, which moved them ahead of Middlesex and into second place in the Division Two table with just three matches remaining.
“I think we were probably done a favour by the weather this week," said Maynard. "I thought Worcester batted really well with the score they compiled there because there was a little in the wicket.
“We got off to a reasonably good start with the bat but they came back and bowled really well. Chris Cooke played really well and Shubman Gill on debut looked a different class to be honest.
“All the lads were hugely impressed by his skill, by his calmness, his technique, everything about him. For such a young man possess such a mature head on his shoulders shows he will go a long way in the game.
“We were a little bit rusty in this game, so hopefully this was a run out which will allow us to be switched on slightly better at Lord’s. It will be a big game next week against Middlesex, then Derby here and Sussex away.
“Three big games, three good opponents and we will have to be better than we were in this game."
