Glamorgan Cricket are delighted to announce that all-rounder Zain ul Hassan and seamer Ben Morris have signed contract extensions with the Club.
Stylish left-hand batter and medium pacer ul Hassan made his debut in all three formats for the Club, slotting in at the top of the order in red-ball cricket, making the position his own with consistent performances throughout 2023.
On signing his new deal, ul Hassan said: “I am delighted to extend my stay in South Wales, I have loved my first season here, and the coaching staff and players made me feel very welcome and part of a family.
“I can't wait for the coming season where we will push for trophies under the guidance of a new Head Coach.’
“The plan for 2024 is to build on my first season and get better by contributing with more match-winning performances in all formats.”
Ben Morris is a promising right-arm seamer, who made his competitive debut for the Club in the Metro Bank One Day Cup last summer.
The 20-year-old played two fixtures last season, against Derbyshire and Worcestershire, and has impressed everyone at the Club with his dedication and improvements over the last year.
Ben Morris was thrilled to sign a new contract, and said: “Firstly, I’m delighted to put pen to paper on a new deal with Glamorgan. I thoroughly enjoyed my first full year at the Club and can’t wait to see what the season ahead holds for me.
“Making my first team debut in the One Day Cup was an excellent experience and I’m eager to knock on the door for selection in all three formats in 2024.
“I’ve worked hard to get to this point and my full focus remains on pushing my game to new heights, and being ready to impact games next summer.”
Director of Cricket, Mark Wallace, said: “Zain is a talented all-round cricketer who settled in magnificently in his first year at the club in 2023. He took on the opportunity to open last season and showed his versatility across all formats with the bat and the ball.
“Ben continues to improve and earned a well-deserved first team debut last year through good showings in the second team and for Pontarddulais in the South Wales Premier League.
“We’re looking forward to both Zain and Ben continuing to develop at the club over the coming seasons and we’re delighted that they have both signed new contracts.”
