Asa began playing cricket in Jersey while attending school and was fortunate enough to be selected for the Jersey setup. He played for Jersey's age groups from the age of 10 to 18, after which he transitioned into the senior men’s team. This provided Asa with great opportunities to travel the world and play the sport he loves.
After completing school, he enrolled at Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he joined the UCCE setup. Following a strong performance last year in the BUCS competition, he was given the opportunity to play some 2nd XI cricket for Glamorgan. Asa adapted well to the four-day format and was signed at the end of the season.
