Callum Taylor became only the fourth Glamorgan player to score a century on first-class debut when he smashed an 88-ball ton at Wantage Road, finishing on 106 from 94 balls.

Taylor had made 27 from his first 46 balls when he was joined by Michael Hogan at 135/9, and scored another 79 from just 48 balls.

Taylor made his Glamorgan debut in 2019 when he appeared in a no-result Vitality Blast clash against Essex Eagles.

Taylor, born in Newport, went on to make four appearances in the Vitality Blast and reverse-swept the first ball he faced in professional cricket for four, as he took on Roelof van der Merwe in Taunton.

He scored 649 runs across all formats for the 2nd XI in 2019, including 103* against Kent at Newport, and was nominated for 2nd XI Player of the Year and Young Player of the year at the recent player awards ceremony.
