Sam Northeast will always be remembered for his remarkable innings of 410 not out for Glamorgan against Leicestershire at Grace Road in July 2022. His remarkable achievement, in a Glamorgan total of 795/5 declared in 160 overs, lasted 450 balls in 603 minutes and featured 3 sixes and no fewer than 45 fours – a performance that will never be forgotten.
Sam, who was educated at Harrow School, joined Glamorgan for the start of the 2022 season having started his career with his native Kent in 2007, before moving to Hampshire and playing on loan for Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
Long before his mammoth innings, Sam was acknowledged as one of the most consistent batters in the county game, claiming 25 first-class centuries before joining Glamorgan, and quickly adding to that list. 2022 also saw Sam make 177* against Worcestershire at New Road - the highest-ever score in a List A game for the Welsh county.
