Surrey win by 4 wickets
Glamorgan seeking back-to-back away wins

Glamorgan head to the Kia Oval tonight on the back of a comprehensive seven-wicket win against Sussex Sharks in their opening match of the Vitality Blast.

Head coach Matt Maynard has named an unchanged 14-man squad for the fixture against Surrey.

Joe Cooke, Michael Neser and Sam Northeast all made their T20 debuts for the Club at Hove with Northeast instrumental in the victory with a composed unbeaten 63. Northeast went past 3,000 T20 career runs during the match-winning knock.

Seamer Michael Hogan played his first T20 match since 2019 last night and took 3/26 and in the process overtook Graham Wagg as Glamorgan’s 2nd highest wicket-taker in the format. He now sits just three wickets behind Dean Cosker who claimed 100 T20 wickets with the Club.

View from the camp – Sam Northeast

“It was a great start to the campaign, a great team effort against Sussex.

"It's my first year in the team for Glamorgan so I'm still learning but that was such a fantastic team effort, we kept taking wickets throughout the effort. We know tough challenges are coming, but that was a nice start and hopefully we can maintain it.

“Surrey are a good team but I know we have a strong record there and if we play like we did last night we’ll be right in the game.”
