Head coach David Harrison has named a 13-man squad for our final group game of the Royal London Cup against Worcestershire Rapids.
Glamorgan could still progress to the quarter-finals of the Royal London Cup, if they win at Worcester while Kent and Yorkshire lose their remaining fixtures, and the Welsh county manage to have a superior run-rate to the Vikings.
22-year-old Tom Bevan scored his maiden List A century last time out as Glamorgan won convincingly against group leaders Hampshire at Neath Cricket Club.
Callum Taylor is named amongst the 13-strong squad and could make his first List A appearance of the season while Ruaidhri Smith misses out through injury.
Colin Ingram departs for the Caribbean Premier League where he will play for the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Ingram enjoyed an incredible campaign for the Welsh county, scoring three first-class hundreds as well as 342 runs at an average of 68.4 in the Royal London Cup.
Glamorgan currently sit sixth in the Royal London Cup Group B table with three wins and four defeats from their seven games, while Worcestershire are in ninth place, two points behind the Welsh county with two wins and five defeats in the competition.
View from the camp – David Harrison
“We can only control our own performance and we will do our very best to earn a positive result at Worcester.”
“Hopefully, other results will go our way and we can earn qualification to the quarter-finals to give us the chance to defend the title.”
“The performance against Hampshire has given the boys a lot of confidence. To perform so well against the group leaders and with Tom playing such an impressive knock, it was pleasing to see.”
