Alan Jones, the legendary Glamorgan batsman and the Club’s current President will be speaking in the first of the talks held during 2019 in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on Tuesday, January 15th (starting at 7.00pm)
“An Evening with Alan Jones” will see the batsman who scored more runs in his career yet never played in a full Test for England reflect on his playing career with Glamorgan which spanned four decades and included some of the most famous matches of recent times, including the Welsh county’s back-to-back victories over the 1964 and 1968 Australians, as well as the Championship-winning season of 1969.
Alan will also recall some of his finest innings as well as his time as Glamorgan captain which included the summer of 1977 when the Welsh county played in the Gillette Cup Final at Lord’s.
The evening will also see Alan talk about his time as the Club’s coach, which coincided with Glamorgan winning the Sunday League in 1993.
Tickets for the evening cost £3 in advance for current Glamorgan members or £4 on the door on the night. For non-members, it’s £4 in advance or £5 on the door (Price includes complimentary tea and coffee). A large attendance is anticipated so you re advised to be in advance to guarantee a seat.
