Barry Cawte appointed to Glamorgan County Cricket Club Board as Cricket Wales Representative

Glamorgan County Cricket Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Cawte to the club's board as the Cricket Wales representative. Having Cricket Wales represented on the Glamorgan Board reinforces our commitment to a strong, collaborative relationship between the organisations and helps ensure alignment with our shared vision and strategic goals for the growth of cricket across Wales.

Barry joined Cricket Wales as their CEO in June 2024, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication across sport to the role, having recently been the Chief Executive of Scottish Hockey and a member of the GB Hockey Board. He has also served as CEO of the Welsh Rugby Players’ Association and as the first Independent Chair of Tennis Wales. His extensive background includes significant impacts on grassroots sport, increasing commercial revenue, and driving equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Barry Cawte expressed his enthusiasm about joining the board, stating, “I am honoured to join the board of Glamorgan Cricket and look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership. Our shared goals and ambitions to grow and develop the game in Wales remain steadfast, ensuring that cricket becomes the most inclusive team sport in the nation. The game continues to grow and thrive and this appointment reflects both organisation's desire to continue to ensure our strategies are effectively aligned for the benefit of all within cricket throughout Wales.
