Billy Root’s bowling action cleared

30 Aug 2019 | Cricket

Glamorgan’s Billy Root has been cleared to resume bowling in competitive county cricket after passing an independent assessment on his bowling action.

Root underwent the independent testing on 23 August 2019 which has confirmed the 27-year-old has remedied his action to display elbow extension within the permitted 15 degrees.

The ECB has received the report of the assessment and as a result Root is immediately free to resume bowling.

Root had been suspended from bowling since 17 May 2019 after his action was reviewed under the ECB’s process for Bowlers with Suspect Actions.
