Glamorgan CCC are delighted to confirm wicketkeeper-batsman Chris Cooke has signed a three year contract extension to keep him at the Club until the end of 2021 season.
Chris joined Glamorgan in 2011 and has become an integral part of the Glamorgan team and has been appointed vice-captain for the 2018 season. In 2017 he topped the batting averages in the Specsavers County Championship as well as playing some match-winning knocks in the white ball forms of the game.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed the past 7 years at Glamorgan and I am more than happy to commit my future to the Club,” said Chris Cooke.
“We have a good squad and if we can continue to build around the pillars of experience with the promising young Welsh talent coming through our development programme, we will have a bright future ahead.”
“We have shown particularly encouraging form in T20 cricket over the past few years and I am sure we can continue to compete against the best in the country in this form of the game whilst making strides in red ball cricket.”
“Over recent years Chris has proved himself to be one of the most talented wicketkeeper-batsmen in the County game as well as being a great role model in the dressing room,” said Hugh Morris, Glamorgan chief executive and director of cricket.
"We are delighted Chris has committed the next 3 years to Glamorgan and I have no doubt he continue to have a positive impact on Glamorgan Cricket and Welsh cricketers both on and off the field.”
