Dubai Trip for Development Programme

Following a successful 2015 season the youngsters in the Glamorgan Academy are due to head out to Abu Dhabi on a 10-day tour as part of their development programme in December.
We went on a tour six or seven years ago with the Academy said Head of Talent Development Richard Almond, but we haven't had a tour since then, and part of our strategy to develop the players is to test them under different environments.

The 10-day training camp in Abu Dhabi in December will provide the opportunity to experience different conditions, different culture, as well as provide real quality training time together.

From a development point of view it gives us a chance to really get to know our players well both on and off the field.

There's some classroom sessions planned, but we've also got two games to make sure we are focused on the cricket against one of the local teams out there as well as against a touring South Africa Academy team who are there at the same time.

It's an exciting trip and we are raising money at the moment, which is part of their leadership development as the cost of the trip is reasonably expensive.

All in all it's a really good development opportunity both on the pitch and off the pitch to grow them as individuals as well.
