Players from across North Wales have the chance to learn from a former pro at Rydal Penrhos High Performance Centre this month.
Will Owen, an ex-Glamorgan bowler, was forced to retire in August following lengthy back and hip injuries. Following this, Will has started a new chapter by becoming a professional coach.

One of his first major projects will be the Rydal Penrhos High Performance Centre in association with Helygen Cricket, which will begin at the school on Sunday, January 17.

Those attending will have the chance to train like professionals with guidance from Owen, who made his first class debut for the South Wales outfit in 2007.

The 27 year-old will go through a number of key areas of coaching, beginning with instructions on how to improve skills in the longer format of the game.

This will be followed by fitness fielding, video analysis, One Day & T20 workshops, skills challenges and will conclude with a review of progress for each budding cricketer who attends.

In addition to receiving coaching from Will, there will also be masterclasses from current professionals during the eight week programme, which runs until Sunday, March 6.

Rydal Penrhos' Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: These sessions will be invaluable to cricketers with potential as they look to develop their skills under the guidance of a former professional.

We look forward to welcoming some of the best young players in the region and beyond to Rydal Penrhos for the eight week programme, which will give young hopefuls the chance to see what life is like as a professional cricketer.
