It was a big day for Glamorgan players and staff on Monday 30 September as Glamorgan and St Helen’s Balconiers hosted their respective End of Season Awards.
Colin Ingram was awarded the Glamorgan and Balconiers’ Player of the Season after a record-breaking 2024, which saw him score over 2,000 runs across all formats.
Ben Kellaway took home the Glamorgan Young Player of the Season and the Balconiers’ 2nd XI Player of the Season awards for his contribution with bat and ball in all three formats.
Jack Hope-Bell was awarded the Glamorgan Academy Player of the Season after a high-scoring summer for the young batter.
The Balconiers’ 50th Annual End of Season Dinner was celebrated at The Towers hotel and everyone at Glamorgan Cricket would like to say a big thank you to John Williams and the Balconiers for organising another fantastic evening.
In addition to the above awards, Andy Gorvin picked up the Most Improved Player of the Season award.
The West Wales supporters also recognised a number of players for milestones throughout the season including Mason Crane who was recognised for his first five-wicket-haul for the Club. Sam Northeast was awarded the David Evans’ Special Memorial Award for his record-breaking 335-run innings at Lord’s. Kiran Carlson and Colin Ingram were recognised for their record-breaking 315-run partnership against Sussex, while Kiran Carlson and Will Smale were also awarded for their 169-run opening stand against Somerset, the highest Glamorgan T20 partnership.
On behalf of the team, red-ball captain Sam Northeast collected the Balconiers’ Award in recognition of the highest-ever 4th innings total in England & Wales (the third-highest 4th innings total anywhere) – 592 against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham.
