Glamorgan’s pre-season training camp in La Manga has been cancelled due to the effects of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
The county has made the decision based on the advice from relevant health authorities, and experts.
The squad were expected to fly out to Spain on the 19th March for a training camp before returning to Cardiff on 26thMarch ahead of the domestic season.
Instead, the players will continue to work on their strength & conditioning and practice at the Welsh county’s indoor facilities at Sophia Gardens.
Director of Cricket, Mark Wallace, said: ‘While cancelling the tour is not ideal, the health of our players and staff is paramount to the club.
“We have excellent facilities at the ground and our players and coaching staff will work hard to make sure the impact on our pre-season preparation is minimal.”
Glamorgan’s remaining pre-season fixtures are unaffected at this stage, however the club will send out regular information to supporters in accordance with guidance from relevant authorities.
