Glamorgan Cricket is delighted to announce NatWest Cymru as its new long term commercial banking partner.
NatWest has a longstanding cricket heritage which spans over 37 years and in 2017 became the lead partner of England Cricket for the first time, helping to support the game in all its forms, at all levels, from the professional teams, down to grassroots clubs. As the club’s new banking partner, NatWest Cymru will now help Glamorgan as it looks to move to its next phase of on and off field development.
Chief Executive, Hugh Morris, said: "NatWest has been a strong supporter of cricket for nearly 40 years, so they made the perfect fit as our new banking partner.
"Having navigated challenging times since 2008, the Club is now looking at a much brighter future.
"The delivery of an ECB TV deal from 2020 relating to the new City Based Team competition – for which we will be one of right eight hosts for the new City based teams across England and Wales - as well as the new international calendar starting in 2020 will make for a much better financial environment for Glamorgan and we look forward to sharing our stronger new financial position with NatWest Cymru going forward."
Stuart Allison, Director, NatWest Cymru Corporate Banking, said: “Glamorgan Cricket is entering a new era and therefore it is a very exciting time to have been chosen as their official banking partner.
"As a bank we support over 20,000 businesses in Wales from start-ups through to large-scale corporates, helping them achieve growth and success is our key driver. We are therefore looking forward to working in partnership with Glamorgan Cricket as they achieve success on and off the field in the years ahead.”
