Glamorgan Cricket Club and Fitzalan High School have joined forces to offer students a unique sports studies qualification. From September, students aged 16-18 will be able to study for a BTEC Level 3 in Sports Studies.

Mark Frost, Glamorgan Cricket’s Community & Development Manager, said: “We believe that learners can enhance their studies by embracing their sporting passion as a means to harnessing their full academic potential. As far as we are aware, this is the first such course to be offered directly by a professional cricket club in the UK and we hope that it will be well received.”

Jo Kemp, Assistant Headteacher at Fitzalan High School said: “We believe that the course will greatly appeal to those who have an interest and ability in cricket, as well as to those who may become elite players in the future, plus those looking to play in the coming years a good standard of club or university cricket.”
