Glamorgan's fixture away at Cheltenham was abandoned after 16.4 overs as persistent rain and standing water forced the umpires into calling the game off.
Gloucestershire had reduced Glamorgan to 96/8 with some skilful bowling and fielding, with the initial rain breaks and regular wickets helping to halt any momentum gained by the visitors.
"It's very tough in those situations," said Maynard. "You know the rain is going to come and it's about how you try to work the DLS to your advantage. You have to keep wickets in hand but also you can't just block out waiting for the rain to come."
"Gloucestershire fielded very well, a couple of great catches and a brilliant run-out.
"You need a bit of luck in these competitions and we have got away with one.
"We have had that lucky break against Gloucestershire. We have got a point so we will take that."
