After achieving a century on his Glamorgan debut against Gloucestershire in the Specsavers County Championship competition, Shaun Marsh is looking forward to his first home fixture in Sophia Gardens.
“It was nice to get one hundred first up but obviously a little bit disappointed with my last innings, but that’s the game. I’m looking forward to getting out there tomorrow and having a bit of fun and try do my bit for the team.
The Australian’s first spell with Glamorgan came in 2012 as an overseas player in the T20 campaign. Several teammates from that campaign are still amongst the team today, however Marsh will now work with many Glamorgan Pathway Players too.
“[The team] have been fantastic towards myself and my family. We’ve got a young group, mixed in with a few senior players. It’s been exciting so far, they are willing to train hard and work hard, which has been fantastic to see.
"Hopefully we can keep playing some good cricket. We started really well against Gloucestershire and obviously we didn’t get much play at Lord’s last week. So we’re looking to getting out there tomorrow and playing some good cricket.”
