Rain has caused the abandonment of Glamorgan’s match in the Vitality Blast against the Kent Spitfires at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.
Heavy storms and torrential rain fell over Cardiff and its suburbs yesterday and throughout the night. The precipitation eased in mid-morning allowing the groundstaff to commence their preparations for today’s contest but the rains returned at 1pm causing the start of the contest to be delayed.
With the precipitation still falling heavily at 3pm, the umpires – Neil Mallender and Paul Pollard – called off the contest.
