Chief executive Hugh Morris has no doubt over the pedigree of new director of cricket Mark Wallace and believes he is the ideal man to take the club forward.
Morris was particularly effusive over Wallace's role with the PCA which saw him work closely with players and coaches across England and Wales, as well as the ECB.
"Over the last two years Mark has served a real apprenticeship with the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA) on the administration of the game and that came across very strongly in his interview," said Morris.
"He is absolutely across the contractual issues and all the issues which are happening with ECB where he has sat on a number of committees, so he's very current and someone who is highly respected by the playing group, not just at Glamorgan but across the whole of the country.
"Mark was an outstanding player and I think he could be an even better administrator. He gets on well with people and builds a rapport with them but he can make tough decisions too, and I believe he'll have a very successful career as an administrator not just at Glamorgan but possibly beyond."
