Mark Rausa will leave his role as Head of Science and Medicine and Lead Physiotherapist at Glamorgan Cricket at the end of the month to take up the position of Head of Medical Services at Cricket Ireland.
Rausa joined Glamorgan in 2012 as the second team physiotherapist and became first team physiotherapist in 2013. Rausa was responsible for the day to day running of Glamorgan medical services, working closely with the players on injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Over the past two winters, he has also been in charge of the England Lions Science and Medicine team, where he has led on managing the medical and musculoskeletal needs of the next generation of senior England cricketers.
Chief Executive, Hugh Morris, said: “Mark has been a valuable member of our coaching staff for a number of years and has been a big part of our success on the field in that time.
“He has done a fantastic job treating our players and his good work was quickly recognised by England Lions who secured his services over the last couple of winters.
“Mark will be missed by everyone at the club and we wish him all the best with his new role at Cricket Ireland.”
Mark Rausa, said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Glamorgan and would like to thank supporters, staff and players for the last six years. Glamorgan has felt like a home to me and I am sad to leave but I feel it’s the right time to start a new challenge.
“I am extremely excited and honoured to be given the role of Head of Physiotherapy and lead the medical services at Cricket Ireland.
