Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer Ieuan Watkins and Board Safeguarding Lead Rachel Owen talk about their commitment to providing a safe environment at the Club.

Glamorgan Cricket takes safeguarding of children, professionals, employees and everyone associated with the Club extremely seriously, and hence is the only county in England and Wales to provide a safeguarding officer at every single large fixture at Sophia Gardens.

"We are keen to not just tick a box in terms of safeguarding and complying with minimum standards, but to exceed and excel. Our CEO Dan Cherry has been clear with me, as has our Board Safeguarding Lead Rachel Owen, that we want to smash the minimum safeguarding standards set to us by the ECB", said Ieuan Watkins, who is the Club's Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer.

Glamorgan Cricket hand out QR code wristbands to families with kids, so it is easy to help kids and families on a busy matchday at Sophia Gardens. Board Safeguarding Lead Rachel Owen comes in after a successful career in law, where she has mastered in child protection.
