Nearly 4,000 people attended Sophiaworks II: Back with a Bang at Sophia Gardens last night (5th November).
The evening, which was hosted by Radio Cardiff’s Wyburn Wayne, was a huge success with the event sold out prior to gates opening.
It is the second time Sophia Gardens has hosted a Fireworks display with both events completely selling out.
Craig Wilcox, 23, who attended the event with a group of friends, said: “We had a great time at Sophiaworks. The fireworks were incredible and the display was really well put together, with music fitting nicely.
“It’s not just a fireworks display, we loved the food offerings and there were fairground rides for families so it felt like a real evening out. We’ll definitely be back in 2020.”
Head of events, Amanda Simisker, said: “We were absolutely thrilled with how the night went.
“We saw unprecedented demand for tickets and were sold out by late afternoon.
“This shows that not only is Sophia Gardens a fantastic cricket stadium, but also one of the leading event venues in Cardiff.
“We’re looking forward to bringing more events next year, starting with our Foster’s Icons of Darts in January.”
