Glamorgan’s pursuit of a target of 348 yesterday at Hove against the Sussex Sharks was their highest-ever successful run-chase in List A cricket. Their total of 348-8 beat their previous best of 334-7 against Hampshire at The Ageas Bowl in 2017.
Glamorgan’s total was also their fourth highest-ever in List A cricket, surpassed by:
429 v Surrey at The Oval, 2002 (C&G)
373-7 v Bedfordshire at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, 1998 (NWT)
356-7 v Kent at Swansea, 2017 (RL)
In terms of highest scores batting last in Championship cricket and winning the game, Glamorgan’s best remains 367-4 on the final day of their match against Essex at Chelmsford in 2001 when the Welsh county were victorious by six wickets.
In 1990 at Abergavenny, Glamorgan were also set a target of 495 on the final day by Worcestershire, with the home side ending a pulsating match on 493-6 as the contest ended in a draw.
