Later this month, James Harris is once again jumping in the saddle to ride alongside cricketing colleagues and friends, to raise funds for the Professional Cricketers’ Trust on their annual fundraising bike ride.
The PCT ride, will set off from Headingley and head southbound to the Home of Cricket, Lord’s, setting off on the 14th October and arriving in St John’s Wood on the 17th October.
James, being James however, isn’t satisfied with the 340+ kilometre trip being undertaken by the rest of the group – he’s going just that little bit further! Well, quite a lot further actually!
Incredibly, James will set off from Sophia Gardens on the 12th October and spend the next two days cycling northbound to Headingley, where he will meet up with the rest of the PCT group! From there, he will join the group ride south and arrive as planned at Lord’s on time. Not done there, he will then set off from HQ, head westbound, and spend the next two days cycling back to Cardiff where his unbelievable ride began!
In all, James will be looking to ride around 900km in the space of just one week – a quite incredible effort.
With James now deeply ensconced in training for his mammoth challenge, he’d love to lean upon his fellow Glamorgan friends, members, supporters, and lovers of the game, to offer their support to his fundraising efforts for the Professional Cricketers’ Trust – a charity deeply close to his heart, as the current Chair of the Professional Cricketers’ Association.
If you’d like to lend James a hand in his fundraising, then please do so, he would really appreciate all the help you can give! It’s going to such a worthy cause!
All funds raise will go directly to the charity, with James himself covering all expenses on the week long challenge.

About the Professional Cricketers’ Trust
The Professional Cricketers' Trust has faced an estimated fundraising shortfall of £200,000 in 2020 due to COVID-19, a huge blow to a small charity that funds life-changing medical assistance, crisis helplines, mental health support and provides assistance through welfare, education and support during difficult times.
As cricket’s leading charity, the Professional Cricketers’ Trust supports the lifelong health of PCA members & their immediate families. We look out for players throughout their careers & long afterwards, funding life-changing medical assistance, crisis helplines & educational programmes.
