Billy Root's 88 runs helped Glamorgan to a first-innings lead at Durham.
In a record-breaking partnership for the eighth wicket worth 113 with Michael Neser, Billy Root staged a fight back on his return to the Glamorgan side to earn a first-innings lead of 54.
"It's always nice to be involved," said Root. "It's always frustrating when you get left out but that's the reality of cricket."
"To come back in and score a few runs was nice. Just to spend some time out there with Nes and Timm, I've really enjoyed today."
"As the day went on, the wicket was pretty good, we thought, lets just keep pressing on, keep chipping away at the deficit to see where we can get to."
"It's very much in the balance still but we're very much pleased with today and hopefully more joy tomorrow."
