"An Evening with Hugh Morris" - March 12th in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket

23 Feb 2014 | Cricket
Tickets are selling quickly for the final Museum talk of the winter programme when Hugh Morris, Glamorgan's new Chief Executive and Director of Cricket will be speaking in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket at the Club's headquarters at the SWALEC Stadium on Wednesday, March 12th at 7.30pm.
Hugh will be looking back on his illustrious playing career with Glamorgan from 1981 until 1997 during which time he led the Welsh county to their first one-day trophy in 1993, besides being a member of the Championship-winning team of 1997. In addition, he set several Club batting records - some of which still stand today - and during his talk, Hugh will reflect on the golden summer of 1990 when he amassed a record 2,276 runs in first-class cricket for Glamorgan.

His run-scoring and consistency also led to a call-up by England and besides recalling his Test Match appearances, Hugh will also spend time reflecting on his outstanding career with the ECB from 1997 until 2013, during which time he oversaw - amongst other things - the creation of a national centre of excellence as well as success on the field, including the Ashes-winning summer of 2005.

An Evening with Hugh Morris will also see the prolific left-handed batsman talk about his new role with the Welsh county, and his vision for the Club's future. The talk will begin in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket at 7.30pm on the evening of Wednesday, March 12th with the Museum being open that evening from 6.45pm, whilst tea and coffee will also be available from that time for those attending the event.

Once again, there are advance purchase discounts, with Glamorgan members paying £3 in advance and non-members £4 if purchased before March 12th. Any remaining tickets will be available on the day itself at £5, but we urge anyone interested in attending in purchasing tickets in advance to avoid any disappointment of the event being sold out.

Tickets can be obtained either from Reception in the Really Welsh Pavilion during normal office hours on weekdays, by ringing 029 2041 9380 or by sending an email to museum@glamorgancricket.co.uk . Please also enquire about parking when you purchase your ticket.
