After the 26-year-old England batsman called time on his cricket career due to a serious heart condition, he was inundated with well wishes.
Taylor will undergo an operation this week after scans diagnosed the serious condition ARVC (arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy), cutting short his promising career.
But the Nottinghamshire batsman can count on the support of his fellow professionals and ex-players, who rallied to his support yesterday.
"James Taylor is one of the great people in our great game," – Michael Vaughan.
First to pledge his support was Glamorgan wicket-keeper and PCA Chairman Mark Wallace, who said: "As an organisation, the PCA are very proactive in helping players' transition out of the game - whatever player that might be, a player who's been a pro for one year or somebody like James who's been an international cricketer.
"The support will be there for him from the PCA – we'll certainly be working with him."
The well wishers included former England bowler Darren Gough, who tweeted: "You'll be back my friend. Fighter, talented and have a great personality. You can be what you want to be."
Ex-England captain Michael Vaughan added: "Very sad news about James Taylor. A great lad who will be greatly missed on the pitch but hopefully will stay involved with the game.
"James Taylor is one of the great people in our great game. The cricket family will make sure we support his every need."
On Twitter, Taylor thanked people for his support, before vowing to 'battle on'.
He said: "Absolutely overwhelmed with all the support I've received. You don't understand how much it means to me and how much it helps. Thank you."
