Former Glamorgan bowler Mark Frost has been appointed to a newly-created role that will see him work jointly for Cricket Wales and Glamorgan County Cricket Club.
Mark took 169 wickets in 64 first-class matches during his professional career and is also a former Sport Wales Senior Manager and Cricket Board of Wales Senior Director.
He will begin the year-long engagement in September with a brief to manage the Club's on-site community team at The SSE SWALEC and lead numerous Cricket Wales projects including the Chance to Shine community programme.
The opportunity to take on a hybrid role across the two organisations held strong appeal given that the health of the recreational and professional game go hand in hand, said Mark.
The staging of the Investec Ashes in Wales, the emergence of young Welsh talent in the Glamorgan squad and the number of clubs, associations and leagues that operate across the recreational game give us a great base on which to build.
Peter Hybart, Chief Executive of Cricket Wales, hopes that the community and development objectives of both organisations will be furthered as a result of Mark's appointment.
Mark is ideally placed to add value to both Cricket Wales and Glamorgan County Cricket Club given his knowledge of the recreational and professional game in Wales, said Peter.
The two organisations have worked closely together for a number of years, but this is the first time that a dual role has been created and we fully expect that it will further strengthen the links between Club and Board.
Cricket Wales is the national governing body for recreational cricket in Wales and works to drive grassroots participation and operates representative squads that identify and nurture the best Welsh talent.
Glamorgan County Cricket Club is the sole Welsh representative in county cricket with a focus on maintaining a successful professional team, an international venue and a thriving community programme.
