Glamorgan won the Digital Campaign award reflecting a year in which they redesigned their club website, offering enhanced content and live streaming linked to BBC Radio match commentary.
The ECB has announced the winners of the 2016 Business of Cricket Awards which were staged at Lord’s and celebrate business excellence across the county game.
Somerset, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Yorkshire and Sussex’s Zac Toumazi were also honoured
Somerset won awards in three different categories following an outstanding season off the field which saw the county achieve record revenues and attendances including selling out all seven NatWest T20 Blast fixtures and the Royal London One-Day Cup quarter final.
Their trio of honours included the County Recognition Award, the Marketing and Communications Award (Category B/C Grounds) and the Commercial Partnerships Award.
Other award winners included:
Yorkshire won the Customer Match Day Experience Award for the #YourYorkshire Matchdays campaign which was aimed at making match-days more appealing to a family audience and helped the club significantly increase its customer database.
Nottinghamshire’s NatWest T20 Blast marketing campaign – which helped drive a 14 per cent uplift in attendances and again established Trent Bridge as the best attended T20 venue outside London – secured the Marketing and Communications Award (Category A)
Worcestershire won the Business Change and Innovation Award following a year which saw the club further diversify its business model by hosting two outdoor cinema events and a 12-hour music festival headlined by UB40.
Warwickshire received the Community Engagement Award for a broad-based out-reach programme which targeted deprived neighbourhoods, different ethnic groups and saw 1,000 plastic cricket bats distributed in the local community.
Zac Toumazi, the outgoing Sussex Chief Executive, won the ECB Special Award which recognises outstanding individual contributions to the growth of cricket. Zac’s achievements at Sussex included leading the integration of professional, recreational and community cricket into a new organisation, Sussex Cricket Ltd.
ECB's Chief Executive Officer, Tom Harrison, said: "It’s very exciting to see the different ways in which our First Class Counties are developing stronger links with their existing fan-base – and reaching out to potential new supporters too.
“Improving fans’ match-day experience, making more effective use of digital channels and taking cricket to new audiences are all important parts of ECB’s broader framework to grow the game – Cricket Unleashed.
“There was intense competition for these awards – with a high quality of entries in all categories. Many congratulations to all our winners and in particular to Somerset for winning awards in three different categories – an outstanding achievement by all at the club.”
