Glamorgan vs. Cardiff UCCE - Match Squad and Preview

After a quick turnaround from the Worcestershire training match this week, pre-season cricket returns to Sophia Gardens in the form of the annual 3-day friendly fixture between Glamorgan and Cardiff University Centre of Cricketing Excellence (UCCE). 

Glamorgan will play their second and final 3-day pre-season match starting Sunday 30 March ahead of the Rothesay County Championship season-opener against Leicestershire at home next week. New Head Coach Richard Dawson has named a 14-member squad to take on Cardiff UCCE. Staff players Ben Kellaway, Asa Tribe and Henry Hurle and represent the university team for this fixture, having student-status in the universities under the Cardiff UCCE scheme (Cardiff University, Cardiff Metropolitan University and University of South Wales).

Injury update

Mason Crane is unavailable due to a shoulder injury and will be unfit for the start of the season. James Harris has a calf injury and will also miss the start of the season. Dan Douthwaite is unavailable at present due to a pectoral injury and is returning to bowl in training this week. Jamie McIlroy will also miss the match due to concussion, and will be replaced by Timm van der Gugten who will rejoin the squad. 

Ticketing

Entry is free for all across the three days, however please note that sections of the Jellyfish Stand and CM.com Stand will be closed due to maintenance work over the next few weeks.  

Streaming

The match will not be streamed. However, the free live-streaming on Glamorgan Cricket TV YouTube channel returns from the start of the Rothesay County Championship season on Friday 4 April.
