Glamorgan Women have announced a 13-member squad for their home game against Middlesex in Newport on Sunday 27 April - their second game in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup after beating Sussex Sharks at Sophia Gardens last Saturday.
Rachel Priest's girls showed real character at the Home of Welsh Cricket last week, where they beat Sussex Sharks in their first-ever game under the Daffodil. In a rain-curtailed match which was reduced to 25 overs, Glamorgan batters put 175 runs on the board thanks to captain Beth Gammon's half-century. Gammon will continue to lead the side while Club captain Lauren Parfitt recovers from injury.
Newport Cricket Club will be one of four home grounds for Glamorgan Women, as the Welsh county will travel pan-Wales in a historic season for the Club. Spytty Park is a familiar place for Glamorgan Cricket, as the Club often plays 2nd XI matches there, and has even hosted a County Championship match against Gloucestershire in 2019.
