It was a night to remember at The SSE SWALEC for music fans and everyone connected with Glamorgan Cricket as the Kaiser Chiefs and Dizzee Rascal performed on the pitch in the first concert held at the stadium.
The concert series entitled 'On The Pitch' – which also features Simply Red tomorrow night – was the first of its kind to be held at the cricket stadium and thousands flocked to The SSE SWALEC to see the star-studded line up.
After support acts Tibet and Nature set the tone to kick the evening off, Manchester-based indie-rockers Everything Everything then followed with an energetic and vibrant set.
The baton then fell to Dizzee Rascal to hype up the crowd, which he did with aplomb, playing his hit records 'Bonkers', 'Dance Wiv Me' and 'Holiday' – he even found time to play his new song 'Hype'.
Ricky Wilson and his Leeds band Kaiser Chiefs then took to the stage to cap a memorable night at The SSE SWALEC. The five-piece performed songs such as 'Ruby', 'Never Miss A Beat' and "I Predict A Riot', before playing fan-favourite track 'Oh My God' as an encore.
Mick Hucknall and his band Simply Red then completed the festival with a fantastic set, with awesome support from Ben Montague and Nathan Ball to cap a landmark weekend for Glamorgan Cricket and The SSE SWALEC.
