Head Coach Robert Croft has confirmed the thirteen-man Glamorgan squad to face Sussex Sharks at The SSE SWALEC tomorrow, 6.30pm.
Nick Selman keeps his place in the squad after being a late addition last weekend, whilst Welsh youngsters Owen Morgan and Connor Brown are also added to the eleven that were victorious at Chelmsford, with Kiran Carlson and David Lloyd ruled out by injury.
If he starts Selman will add to his one NatWest T20 Blast appearance against Essex Eagles last year, while Brown will make his debut for the Welsh County if selected.
Glamorgan are well placed in the South Group after recording victories against both of this weekend’s opponents Sussex Sharks and Essex Eagles in successive away matches.
Colin Ingram struck Glamorgan’s fastest ever century in the NatWest T20 Blast against Sussex Sharks in an 18 win at Arundel and backed that up with another hundred against Essex Eagles on Sunday.
However, it was all-rounder Craig Meschede who was the eventual hero at Chelmsford as he struck 10 off the final two balls of the match to secure the second highest run chase in the history of the NatWest T20 Blast for Glamorgan.
“I haven’t played as much first team cricket as I would have liked but it was good to come back and make an impact,” said Meschede.
“Obviously hitting a six and four of the last two balls against Essex to take the team over the line was very pleasing.”
Colin Ingram has been at his destructive best throughout the competition and sits top of both the run and six hitting charts in the NatWest T20 Blast as well as the PCA MVP rankings for the competition. Meschede believes his impact has had a positive impact on the rest of the team and has given them confidence ahead of this weekend’s return fixtures.
“Colin (Ingram) is in the form of his life and it gives the team confidence knowing he is in the team and can take us over the line.
“We’ve already got a win over both teams and we’re playing well, so there’s a lot of belief going forward into the games over the weekend.”
New Glamorgan signing David Miller flies in from South Africa on Saturday so is unavailable for Friday’s match against Sussex, but it set to face Essex Eagles on Sunday.
England and Sussex Sharks fast bowler Tymal Mills is likely to face Glamorgan at The SSE SWALEC after recovering from a hamstring injury.
