Looking back at season 2015, Glamorgan supporters will be pleased to see the Welsh side managed to improve their position in the County Championship Division Two table from eighth in 2014 to fourth in 2015.
There was also a great deal of international success on the field with the 1st Investec Ashes Test Match in Cardiff proving to be the most closely contested game of the Series and the NatWest International T20 double-header between England and Australia at the end of August selling out in record time and delivering two enjoyable fixtures as England recorded two victories against their rivals.
At the Annual End of Season Awards night, Glamorgan chief executive Hugh Morris reflected on the summer including performances on the field, the success of the Ashes, trying to reduce the county's debt and increasing the current Glamorgan squad.
Performances Overall
We made some encouraging stride forwards in the Championship by finishing fourth. We wanted to get into the top four this season and show some progress which we have done.
I believe it is the second highest we have been in the championship for 10 years now so it's a step in the right direction. Clearly we are not the finished article by a long shot and we have a lot of hard work to do.
As far as white ball cricket is concerned, I thought we were generally a bit unlucky. We played some great T20 cricket away from home but not so good at home.
We came within five overs of reaching the quarter-finals and we would have come close to reaching the 50-over qualification stages had it not been for some penalties which we have incurred.
We were competitive in one-day cricket and beat some of the top sides with more resources than we have got. So we have made some strides forward but a long way to go.
Pitch Problems
It is always important to play on surfaces that have the right balance between bat and ball. That's what we will be trying to produce next year.
It's a good opportunity for Robin Saxton who has been announced as our head groundsman for the next 12 months.
He is a very enthusiastic and committed man and I am sure he will be working hard to produce the best wickets he can along with the rest of the ground staff.
New Signings
For the start of the season we cut back our squad to 15 players and that's partly down to finance.
It stretched us in the second half of the season after a very good start in the championship where we were competing for the top two places for a large part of the season.
Understandably a lot of players didn't have a lot of petrol left in the tank.
We want to create competition within the squad. We have some good young players coming through our system and we are going to have to be patient with them.
If we can get the right players for the right money we will look to sign them.
We have been actively engaged in speaking to people over the last few weeks and months and will continue to do so.
I have made no secret we want to strengthen our seam bowling department and we need to create more competition at the top of our batting order. We have to live within our means but also recruit well.
Ashes summer
It went really well. We wanted to put on a good show for the Ashes and the feedback we have had has been rewarding.
We are pleased with the way the T20 international went in August. We budgeted initially to sell 70 per cent of the tickets and we sold 100 per cent.
It was a fantastic game of cricket and went down to the last ball on an excellent pitch.
We have two global events coming up with the Champions Trophy in 2017 and the World Cup in 2019 which will create a lot of interest.
Domestic schedule
Change is something the ECB have chewed over and a number of counties have some concerns about altering things at this time. I think change is inevitable and important we grow the game as much as we can in England and Wales.
There are opportunities to do that which the ECB will actively look for. We have got a very similar format in 2016 and will be working hard to succeed in three formats of the game.
2016 Promotion
It's going to be tough. Lancashire and Surrey were two outstanding teams in our division this year but they had plenty of resources and big squads who played some good cricket.
We have made progress this year and want to do that again next year which would mean looking at promotion.
We are in professional sport and there is always pressure to perform and that's how we are judged.
That's the exciting challenge of professional sport. You have to have challenging goals and try to achieve them.
Financial Future
We are continuing to discuss our situation with our creditors and we are hopeful of having everything tied up by Christmas. Everything has been agreed in principle but it has to be tied up legally.
It's absolutely critical to the long-term future of the club. To service a £16m debt would have been the straw that broke the camel's back. Our creditors recognised that and we worked in good faith with them.
They have been incredibly understanding and for the future of the club it was essential.
