Head coach Matt Maynard has named a 14-man squad for Glamorgan’s next two Vitality Blast matches.
The Welsh county are in action against Gloucestershire in Bristol tomorrow (18 June) before returning to Sophia Gardens on Sunday to take on Sussex Sharks.
Tom Bevan, the young batter from Cardiff, makes his first appearance in a Glamorgan squad. The 22-year-old has been in terrific form for the second eleven and recently broke the Club record for the highest-ever individual score in T20 cricket.
The Glamorgan Pathway product smashed 132 from just 69 balls in the semi-final of the Second Eleven T20 competition against Middlesex 2nd XI at Arundel Castle and struck a century during the Second Eleven Championship match against Somerset at Abergavenny this week.
With wicket-keeper Chris Cooke ruled out with a calf injury sustained in the LV= County Championship match against Sussex, 18-year-old Alex Horton is set to make his Glamorgan debut. Horton is another product of the Glamorgan Academy and represented England Under 19s in the World Cup.
Meanwhile, seamer Michael Hogan has been passed fit after recovering from Covid-19. Hogan was withdrawn from the Sussex game mid-match after testing positive.
Left-arm seamer Jamie McIlroy has also been drafted into the squad and will make his T20 debut for the Welsh county if selected in the final eleven.
Glamorgan are in eighth place in the South Group on five points after two wins, four losses and a no result, but with six matches left in the group stages of the competition they can still qualify for the knockouts if they put together a good run of wins.
Saturday’s opponents, Gloucestershire, sit in fourth on nine points, while Sussex Sharks are sixth place, one point ahead of Glamorgan.

We've had a lot of close games but we just haven't got over the line, so it's about (batters) taking it deep into the innings, and showing a bit more composure with the bat at times.
We get going in a partnership for 20 or 25 then someone gets out and you have to rebuild again, we need a couple of 80 partnerships though an innings, or an 80 and a 50, and if we do that, those results will come.
We probably need to win five to guarantee (a quarter-final place) but we're going to go for it.

The Welsh county have won three of their eight T20 matches against the Sharks at Cardiff, with the 2017 match also being washed out after just eight overs were possible. As the list below shows of recent matches between the two teams at Sophia Gardens, the Sharks have been victorious on their last three visits to Glamorgan’s headquarters, including last year’s contest when an opening stand of 144 between Luke Wright and Phil Salt laid the foundation for a 33-run victory before teenage leg-spinner Archie Lenham bagged four wickets.
