TICKETS for the 2015 NatWest International T20 double header, between England and Australia at the SWALEC Stadium, go on general public sale today (Monday 24th November) at 9am.
This summer, Alastair Cook's men lost their unbeaten record in Cardiff after suffering defeat against India in the second Royal London One Day International, however they will hope to retain their unblemished record in the Welsh capital in the shortest and longest forms of the game when they meet their oldest rivals next year.
Australia will provide the opposition for England men and women with the IT20 double header on August Bank Holiday Monday (31st August, 2015) comprising of the final encounter of next year's Women's Ashes Series, before the only men's T20 encounter in 2015 between England and Australia gets underway.
England women's captain, Charlotte Edwards, said: The multi-format nature of the Women's Ashes means that every match and every point matters, so when we line up against Australia for the final NatWest T20I of the Series at the SWALEC Stadium on August 31, it could be an all or nothing situation - which is hugely exciting! It's always brilliant to play in the double-header T20Is with the men, and with this being a double-dose of Anglo-Australian rivalry, as England men also take on Australia immediately after our match, I'm sure that Cardiff will be boasting a very lively atmosphere all day on August 31!
Before then, the SWALEC Stadium will again host the first Investec Ashes Test Match, scheduled to start on Wednesday 8th July. Glamorgan County Cricket Club members had the opportunity to purchase Ashes Test Match and IT20 tickets during an advance sales period and over 20,000 Ashes Test tickets were sold in the first 24 hours when they first went on public sale on September 10th. The remaining tickets are being snapped up, with availability for days 1 and 2, mainly in Category C Grandstand seating still on sale.
Martyn Bicknell, Glamorgan CCC's Marketing Manager, said: With two key international games at the SWALEC Stadium in 2015 including the return of the Ashes, cricket supporters in Wales are in for a real treat.
For the Ashes Test Match, we're delighted we've been able to offer tickets first to cricket lovers who have supported Glamorgan CCC through membership or England internationals in Wales. We were the first ground to go on general sale for next year's Ashes and we received a fantastic response from supporters. You can still purchase tickets through Barmy Army for the First Test and we continue to receive calls for our currently limited availability, although we do anticipate more tickets will become available to purchase in the New Year from Glamorgan Cricket.
With regards to the IT20 we're especially pleased that children will be able to attend from as little as £10, which is great news for families. Our domestic NatWest T20 Blast campaign proved to be a big success with the live entertainment and off the field activities, so we are really looking forward to raising the bar for the IT20 game against Australia.
Tickets for the NatWest IT20 are priced from £30 for adults and £10 for juniors. Supporters can purchase up to 9 tickets per transaction, with a £2 booking fee payable on all orders.
