The Glamorgan Yearbook for 2017 has been published this week and copies are now available for purchase or collection during normal office hours from The SSE SWALEC.
As always, the Yearbook look backs on events from the previous summer and the 2017 volume is no different with a series of special articles and reviews reflecting on the events of last summer which saw the Welsh county reach the quarter-final of the Twenty20 competition..
Besides special tributes to Timm van der Gugten, Colin Ingram, Aneurin Donald, Kiran Carlson and David Lloyd for their efforts during 2016, the 2017 Yearbook also contains a series of Flashback articles recalling events from 1927, 1967, 1977 and 1997 – including Glamorgan’s inaugural season at Sophia Gardens, plus their successful campaign in the Gillette Cup forty years ago and their title success twenty years ago with Matthew Maynard’s side winning Championship crown after a thrilling victory over Somerset at Taunton.
As always, the Yearbook includes scorecards of every game played by Glamorgan during 2016, whilst the statistical and records pages have been further augmented to include much new information and milestones about the Club and its players.
There is plenty of information as well about the Glamorgan 2nd XI, the Wales Minor Counties, and the South Wales Premier League in which the Welsh county’s players appear in club cricket, plus reports on the Cricket in the Community programme which has seen the Welsh club engage with schools and other organisations throughout Wales during the past year.
