A great day with the ball for the bowlers - Harrison

Assistant Coach David Harrison was happy with the way his charges performed with the ball on Day 1 of the Bob Willis Trophy clash against Warwickshire, after Glamorgan dismissed the hosts for 186 before finishing on 4-1.

Lukas Carey, Dan Douthwaite and Timm van der Gugten all took three wickets each, with Carey singled out for praise in his first game of the truncated 2020 season.

"It's been a great day with the ball for the boys, the conditions helped a bit but you've still got to put the ball in the right areas and I thought we did that really well.

"Lukas Carey was very impressive, he's been waiting for his chance all season and he bowled nearly 20 overs, deserved his wickets and did a good job for the team."

Ian Bell announced before the match that it would be his final red-ball game, with Harrison praising Bell's longevity and believing that his side can go one better than Bell's did and build a first innings lead and a commanding position.

"We've got all day to bat, so if we can build a couple of good partnerships. we'll look to get a lead and put them under pressure in the third innings.

"Ian Bell has been a great of the game over the last 20 years, so it was nice to see the back of him."
