Glamorgan Academy players Alex Horton and Tegid Phillips have been selected in the South and West U17 team for the ECB Super 4's week in Loughborough this week.
Tegid is from Cardiff CC and Alex from Newbridge CC. Alex scored 115 off 76 balls against Northamptonshire U17’s in the ECB U17 cup this year, and he also scored 58 against Gloucestershire on his 2nd XI debut this year. Alex was also part of the Glamorgan squad that won the 2nd XI T20 competition at Finals Day in Arundel last week. Alex has also played a number of games for Wales Minor Counties this year.
Tegid has been the leading bowler for the U17's for the past two years. He took 2 for 27 in his 10 overs v Northamptonshire in the ECB cup and bowled 7 overs for 10 runs v Staffordshire also in the U17 Cup. He also scored a useful 30 not out against Warwickshire U17’s. He also took 37 wickets for Cardiff in the South Wales Premier League last year. Tegid has also played three games for Wales Minor Counties this year, making his debut in the process.
