The programme of popular talks in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket will conclude for this winter on Wednesday, March 7th at 7pm with Malcolm Nash looking back on his career in county cricket .
Famed as the first bowler to be hit for six sixes in an over in professional cricket, Malcolm will reflect on events fifty years ago this August when Gary Sobers hit him for 36 in an over whilst bowling left-arm spin from the Pavilion End at Swansea.
Other events from the summer of 1968 will be recalled, including the famous victory over the Australians, again at St. Helen’s, as well as events from 1969 which saw Glamorgan become county champions for the second time in their history.
Malcolm will also reflect on playing in the 1977 Gillette Cup Final at Lord’s, his time in the early 1980s as the county’s captain, and the day at Swansea when Frank Hayes of Lancashire struck him from 34 in an over with Malcolm nearly entering the record books again, this time whilst bowling from the Mumbles Road End in his normal medium-pace style!
