As children return to schools this week, it concludes the block of our popular Summer Camps. Across the 22 days of coaching camps, we had over 450 young cricket enthusiasts attend! It’s been another highly enjoyable summer.
Our summer campers had a range of cricketing backgrounds, from junior club cricketers to those picking up a bat and ball for the first time. They all enjoyed a range of fun games focused on cricket skills, such as batting, bowling and fielding along with entertaining drills working on fundamental physical literacy.
Glamorgan Summer camps are held at Sophia Gardens Cardiff, the home of Welsh cricket and some participants are fortunate to have the opportunity to play on the Sophia Gardens pitch. They also enjoy the fantastic facilities in the National Cricket Centre, and often get to watch the professional train up close. This year, they met Glamorgan white-ball captain Colin Ingram!
Don’t forget that Glamorgan junior members benefit from discounted entry and there’s also discount for siblings! Keep an eye out on the Glamorgan website and our dedicated twitter @glamcommunity for all the latest news about coaching and camps.
Until next time, bowl fast, spin the ball hard and score big runs!
