Around The Grounds: NatWest T20 Quarter-Finals

A statistical look around the grounds ahead of next week\'s NatWest T20 Blast quarter-finals, with Gloucestershire, Durham Jets, Essex Eagles, Nottinghamshire Outlaws, Middlesex and Northamptonshire Steelbacks in action away from The SSE SWALEC – where Glamorgan take on Yorkshire. Notts Outlaws v Essex Eagles
– Notts Outlaws and Essex Eagles are facing each other for only the second time; their only previous meeting also came in a quarter-final match, a game that was won by the Eagles (2013).

– The Outlaws have now progressed to the quarter-final stage in six of the last seven seasons; those previous five games also happened to be at home (W1 L4).

– Essex Eagles have reached this stage of the competition for the fifth successive year; they’ve only managed to win once in those previous four attempts but that victory did come against Notts Outlaws (L3).

– This could be Graham Napier’s (Essex Eagles) final T20 match; he’s got the best strike rate of any bowler to take 12+ wickets this summer (11.8, 20 wickets taken).

– Daniel Christian (Notts Outlaws) has the highest batting strike rate of anyone to score 200+ runs this summer (170.8); averaging 50.7 in the process.

Northamptonshire Steelbacks v Middlesex

– Northamptonshire Steelbacks are facing Middlesex for the very first time.

– The Steelbacks have progressed from three of their last four quarter-finals.

– This is the first time since 2008 that Middlesex have reached this stage of the competition.

– Northamptonshire Steelbacks have won nine of their last 11 home games whilst Middlesex come into this match having failed to win in successive games.

– Richard Gleeson (Northamptonshire Steelbacks) has the best economy of any bowler to record 10+ overs this season (6.1, 33.3 overs).
                                     
Gloucestershire v Durham Jets

– This will be the first time these two counties have met in T20 cricket.

– Gloucestershire are in the quarter-finals for the first time since 2012.

– All four of the previous games involving the Jets at this stage have been won by the side batting first.

– Durham Jets have claimed one win in their last eight matches on the road (L7) whilst Gloucestershire have recorded victories in eight of their last nine at all venues (L1).

– The two batsmen to record the most runs this summer both play for Gloucestershire (Michael Klinger 530 & Ian Cockbain 499).
