Glamorgan Academy Player of the Year Kiran Carlson has been named in a shortlist of three for the Nation Radio Junior Sports Personality Award.
All-rounder Kiran, who attends Whitchurch High School has delivered a series of excellent performances in 2015, particularly with the bat and was awarded the Glamorgan Academy Player of the Year at the end of September.
The Cardiff cricketer picked up the August/September player of the month award from Cricket Wales after scoring 77 against Gloucestershire and 111 against Hampshire in the ECB U17 competition, before being selected in the West of England squad at the Super 4 competition at Loughborogh, where he posted a 73-run knock.
Kiran captained the Cricket Wales age grade teams for 4 years from the age of 13, also hit a brilliant 150 for Glamorgan 2nds against Leicestershire in their penultimate game of the season.
It's fair to say Kiran has had a good season said Richard Almond, Glamorgan Head of Talent Development.
He scored 150 against Leicestershire here at The SSE SWALEC for Glamorgan Second XI this year, which is an exceptional achievement and shows what a good young prospect he is.
We haven't had a 17-year-old score a century for the Second XI for many years and he deservedly won the Academy player of the year award this year, so he'd be my recommendation for the Nation Radio Young Sports Personality.
The Nation Radio Sports Awards take place at The SSE SWALEC on Wednesday 4th November. Vote for Kiran for the Nation Radio Young Sports Personality of the Year Award online
