Club statement: the return of spectators

5 Mar 2021 | Cricket

Further to Monday’s Welsh Government briefing on the return of spectators to watch live sport in 2021, we have received a number of enquiries from our Members and supporters and wish to reassure them that we are working closely with the Welsh Government and England and Wales cricket Board (ECB), to develop a route for the safe return of fans to Sophia Gardens this summer.

Our chief executive, Hugh Morris, has been appointed as a representative on a multi-sector steering group including the Welsh Government created for this purpose and is also a member of an ECB steering group considering the matter.

As a club, we are working hard to prepare the stadium for every eventuality when it comes to the return of fans to our venue. We would like to reassure our supporters that when it is possible to return to watch cricket here, it will be in a safe and secure environment.

For those who have already bought or are considering buying tickets, our ticket refund promise policy is in place for all our fixtures, and allows supporters to book with confidence knowing their tickets will be fully refunded if matches are required to be played behind closed doors.

We remain hopeful to host supporters this summer and would like to thank everyone associated with the club for their continued support and patience during these difficult times.
