Glamorgan Cricket has taken the decision to re-furlough the majority of its employees, to protect jobs during the winter period.
Further to the news that the UK Government's furlough scheme is to be extended, as well advice from the Welsh Government that this will continue until early December, Glamorgan Cricket has taken the decision to keep a large number of its staff on furlough in order to protect its financial position in this turbulent period.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sophia Gardens has been working with a reduced team of staff since April. Today, the Club has confirmed it will continue to use the furlough support scheme and will be operating with a skeleton team of staff until December.
Hugh Morris, Chief Executive at Glamorgan, said: “This remains a challenging time and, once again, we have decided to do our very best to protect the future interests of the Club and our valued staff members. By adopting the available support measures available to us, we are doing all we can to ensure we can return next summer in the strongest position possible."
